The animals are set loose, and the leash is off — Embla and the Karidotters are back with their second album! After winning the Spellemann Award for their debut Hello, I’m Embla and touring Norway and beyond, how do you follow up such a success?

With MORE, of course. Off Leash is simply better, bolder, and rawer. The star-studded band sounds razor-sharp, and their new album, released August 23, 2024, continues the gritty honkytonk noir vibe, with hints of Ennio Morricone, Nancy Sinatra, and David Lynch.

Embla and the Karidotters is the solo project of Razika’s drummer Embla Karidotter. After Razika went on hiatus, she gathered musicians from bands like Honningbarna, Sløtface, Slomosa, and Aiming for Enrike.

Their EP Howling came out in 2021, followed by their debut album Hello, I’m Embla in fall 2022, which won the Norwegian Grammy for best country album. Summer 2023 was packed with festivals including Stagecoach in California, Øya, Bergenfest, Norsk Countrytreff, and Vinjerock. They kicked off spring 2024 with a busy week at SXSW in Austin.

This evening, they’ll perform a stripped-down duo set, giving their music a fresh new shade. Expect more of Embla’s storytelling — just as powerful between the songs as when she sings. We promise an intimate country night with beautiful music, humor, and… maybe even some line dancing?!
