Henningsvær Half Marathon 2026

Last Saturday, 1st of August 2026, runners from near and far gathered at Trevarefabrikken for the fourth edition of the Henningsvær Half Marathon.

After weeks and weeks of rain, and what we locals would call 'the wettest summer in a while', we were lucky enough to get good weather just in time for the race day. The weather has started to become a tradition just as much as the race itself, and the Lofoten skies did not let us down this year either. Under soft white clouds, with a little bit of sun peeking through, runners set off from Trevarefabrikken, made their way through Henningsvær and out towards the beach of Rørvika before returning to the finish line back at the factory.

Some came to race, some came to challenge themselves, and some came to simply spend a day enjoying the views. Along the route, locals and friends of participants cheered from the roadside, volunteers kept the runners hydrated, and visitors passing through got to see Henningsvær at a different pace.

More than 250 runners crossed the finish line this year, making it our biggest half marathon in participants so far. By late afternoon, the seaside terrace of Trevarefabrikken filled up with runners, friends and family sharing experiences from the day over pizzas and beers in the sun.

Congratulations to this year's winners and to everyone who joined us on the starting line. The biggest thank you also to everyone who helped make the day happen: our volunteers, staff, the cheering crowds and all the runners who came to Henningsvær. See you again next year!
